Hermana Eminem
4 August 2021
Remember how last week we had that amazing lesson and the Spirit was so strong and we all cried? Well, we did that again this week. But this time our Spanish was horrible to the point where Hermana Cannon and I took a deep breath, put the sentence "I'm sorry our Spanish is so horrible, but thanks for being patient with us" into Google translate and completely butchered the pronunciation. Oh well, you win some you lose some I guess hahaha.
I once read somewhere that prior to an engagement on the Bachelor/Bachlorette, they spend a grand total of around 48 hours together.
Hermana Cannon and I put in breakout rooms with each other for about an hour and a half straight each day and have a 30 minute companionship study, so times that by the 28 days we've been in the CCM and that puts us right at 56 hours! (My deepest apologies for all of that math)
Y'all have the next 17 months to plan us the most epic wedding that Southern Utah has to offer.
But seriously, I am SO grateful for her! We somehow never run out of things to talk about and I feel so blessed to have the best person as my first compañera!
When I was a kid, I LOVED those medical infomercials for a few reasons. But the most important thing is that I was insanely jealous of how freaking fast these people could talk. I made it my entire life goal to talk as fast as those people, thinking I could really do that as a career one day.
Thankfully, I've moved on to bigger dreams for myself BUT I can definitely still talk as fast as they can. This week we had competitions in class of who could say certain phrases the fastest...and childhood Grace definitely pulled through, dubbing me "Spanish Eminem".
Last but not least, here's a quick list of things I've watched in the CCM that I was definitely not allowed to (yet my parents still approved):
1. Multiple MMA Fights
2. The Olympics
3. "Best and Funniest Local News Videos of All Time!"
4. The Office
5. A news story on the BYU Groper
6. An entire season of TV in one day
XOXO,
Hermana Cox
Pictures!!!
1. Sister Cannon and I in one of our many hour long break out rooms
2. A birthday celebration dress-up party
3. My mom's birthday Crumbl cookie!
4. My teacher told us this week, "I'll be right back, there's an earthquake right now", so naturally we took a photo (they're all good though!)
5. The language barrier is real
