Level 3 Arms & Southern Accents

Can you BELIEVE that I have less than a week until I've moved across the country & I'm teaching the gospel in Spanish?? (Quick side note: my mission contains all of DC, but also a ton of Maryland so I might get assigned to that area too) 
But y'all I seriously love being a missionary so much. I'm so excited to be out there serving!

My new favorite hobby is finding crazy hard pilates arms videos to do with my district on Pilates Thursdays. We somehow joined the Blogilates Hot Girl Summer arm workout program and I'm proud to say that we've graduated level 2 arms!!! I already know level 3 is going to be a CHALLENGE. 

Hermana Cannon and I had a huge lesson glow up this week! Our teacher was shocked that we actually used all of the strategies he taught us in class hahaha. It's crazy how just 4 weeks ago our lessons were completely scripted word for word in Spanish and took 5 minutes max, and now we can give a 20+ min lesson with only a basic outline!
We taught Maura this week (aka my teacher pretending to be an investigator) and she agreed to get baptized. I don't know if that counts as anything but I'm taking it as a win. She loved our lesson so much she called us her "estrellitas", or "little stars".

Also, I PROMISED myself that I was not going to make any of those embarrassing language mistakes on my mission. I didn't even let anyone teach me all of the cuss words in Spanish just because I was so scared I would accidentally say them. Despite my best efforts, I accidentally brought up Adam & Eve's ~intimate couple time~ in class this week....whoops.

I don't know if you remember that dare from a few weeks back, but I had to speak in a Southern accent in front of my whole CCM group (a little under 300 people). And mama ain't raise no quitter, so I've kept it up in every single one of those meetings. And each time, everyone FREAKS OUT. Seriously, what is it with Utahns and their genuine fear of the South?
So out of 300 people, there's 3 of us that allegedly have Southern accents. But we're so well known that anytime one of us makes a comment, the other two of us are brought up in the chat.
According to the group, "Cox, Condie, and Felkins convert on sight". So y'all better watch out.

Grace uploaded these photos of her on the plane and then in her hotel room the next morning before going to breakfast and meeting their trainers .  We received this letter from the Mission President as well as a few photos. August 20, 2021 Dear Brother and Sister Cox, Hello from the Washington DC North Mission! We are so excited to have Sister Cox in our mission. She is going to bless many lives and grow so much. We know your family will be blessed by her service. When we were set apart as Mission President and Companion, we were given stewardship over the missionaries that are sent to us. We feel so honored to have this privilege. We will love and support your missionary like we were beautifully taught in the MTC, to lead and love in the Savior’s way. Hermana Eminem

 4 August 2021 Remember how last week we had that amazing lesson and the Spirit was so strong and we all cried? Well, we did that again this week. But this time our Spanish was horrible to the point where Hermana Cannon and I took a deep breath, put the sentence "I'm sorry our Spanish is so horrible, but thanks for being patient with us" into Google translate and completely butchered the pronunciation. Oh well, you win some you lose some I guess hahaha. I once read somewhere that prior to an engagement on the Bachelor/Bachlorette, they spend a grand total of around 48 hours together.  Hermana Cannon and I put in breakout rooms with each other for about an hour and a half straight each day and have a 30 minute companionship study, so times that by the 28 days we've been in the CCM and that puts us right at 56 hours! (My deepest apologies for all of that math) Y'all have the next 17 months to plan us the most epic wedding that Southern Utah has to offer. But serious...
